Nine Months!

The stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 12 oz. (16%)
Height: 27 3/4 in (58%)
Head: 18 in (91%) big noodle! :)

What a big girl she has become! We love how silly and funny and spontaneous she is. Always getting into some mischeif. Loves to talk and make loud noises. Started saying mama and know's what it means... says dada but hasn't figured out who that is yet. Love's everyone, doesn't matter who you are! Not sure when the stranger anxiety is going to start but definitely hasn't yet. She loves crawling from person to person at church, climbing up their leg, playing with them for a few minutes then moving on to the next person. She is a total mooch! If you have food she is your best friend. You would think we starve the girl!... we don't. Love's zuccini... but still gags when we try and feed her pea's. Love's all dogs and chases them around the park all day. She scares them a lot of the time because she just starts screaming for excitement and crawling after them as fast as she can. She throws some pretty impressive tantrums. I can't believe she's only 9 months and has the whole throw the head back, lay on the ground rolling around kicking and crying as loud as I can thing down already. I'm not sure how to handle that yet. I just put her down when she starts to throw a tantrum and act like I don't notice it. Is that bad? Most of the time however she is delightful and loves to laugh. She has started to stand up on her own and balance for a few seconds. Loves's to destroy the house and pull everything out. Has figured out how to open cabinets and close doors. And most importantly she has captured our hearts. We love this wild and spunky, cute and cuddly, innocent and mischievious, silly little girl.

For some reason her favorite toy is this beany baby skunk. She never tires of it.

At her Dr. appointment. She got shots and didn't even cry just gave the nurse this look like "What do you think you're doing!?"

After her appointment I had to go to swim lessons. Usually I take Afton in the water with me but it was a free swim day so I just had to gaurd the pool. Afton waited inside with dad....she really wanted to come outside!

Relaxing at the beach

I love the days when we can just stop by the beach and walk along the boardwalk soaking in the sun and cool breeze.

July 4th

Well the 4th of July was fun. Logan of course had to work on the 4th.... it seems like he has to work on every holiday! It kind of stunk because he worked the evening shift which means we didn't get to do the whole BBQ-ing and fireworks stuff with him. His shift started at 5:00 p.m. but atleast we did have him in the morning. We went to the ward pancake breakfast. I made (well sort of) this little outfit for Afton. Really all I did was make the bow and sew a few stars on the top.

From drab...

...to 4th of July fab! It got this dress/shirt last year on final markdown. I'm glad I got to use it for the 4th.

Kris Holiday feeding Afton pancake pieces.

For some reason her outfit didn't last long. She threw up... must of been the pancakes... all over her dress. I just couldn't take the smell so she ended up naked for the holiday. She probably preferred it that way. Playing with Emily Holliday.

On the 4th they have a huge party with a band and booths etc at Lake Murray. Than at 9 there was a fireworks show over the lake. It was really cool. So we got to walk around the lake until it was time for the show. At 9 Logan got to go on the hospital roof and watch fireworks . He got to see literally all the shows in San Diego from there. He could even see the same one we were watching. ( somewhere out there..... jk).

Me and my little girl. Again, our camera is being lame and blurry.

I'm really sad that I didn't get a pic of Logan or of all of us together. Maybe next time we'll all get to spend it together,

QTTF

That is what I am going to call our "quick trips to fresno". We've made them a lot lately, or so it feels. We love being there but don't enjoy the drive now that Afton is mobile and hates being contained to a carseat. She really isn't to bad but we do usually stop for an hour halfway through our 6 hour drive so that she can get out to crawl around. I miss being able to just get in the car and get wherever we are going! But, she's worth stopping for. :)

With 2 of her cousins. Mia (4 months), Afton (8 months), Kaedyn ( 17 months)

I never did get a picture of them all looking forward.

Look how cute Mia is. Afton was just about to grab her face.

With Nana

The future misisonary talking with Afton. He was the reason we drove up. It was Johns mission farewell and eagle scout bbq.... no one wanted to go to another eagle court of honor so we did an informal bbq instead.

Aunt Ashlee

Not a very good pic of these guys. haha Mike looks like he's making the blue steal face.

John and the proud parents.

Uncle Whit played with Afton in the pool. She loves, loves, the water and swimming.

This is the best dog ever! Not very obedient but a great dog! He kept jumping in the pool to steal the noodles from everyone. He didn't care if you were holding it and he wouldn't give up until he got it. If you've seen Marley and Me, that is exactly what this dog is like.... such a sweetheart but loves to get in trouble. :)

Maz jumping off the rock.

Sitting with Grandma after swimming.

After John's bbq we ran over to another bbq at the Christensens. Logans sister Kiley and her family were in town. We hadn't seen them in over a year and hadn't seen Kaedyn since she was like 7 weeks old.... she's definitely changed a lot!

Kaedyn (17 months), Afton (8 months), Avery (24 months). My camera was acting up and wouldn't focus... lame... so this is the best pic I got. Bummer.

Eating a popsicle. For some reason she likes cold food. Sometimes when I heat food up she doesn't want it anymore. Logan has discovered that she loves frozen pea's but won't even touch defrosted or fresh ones.

And while in Fresno we took family pictures. We haven't gotten them back yet but we're really excited. Here is a sneak peek at what they might look like.... this one is from my camera, not the photographers. Speaking of photographer... Rachel Boyer took them. If your in Fresno and need a photographer give her a call... she's a total sweetheart and a great photographer.

New toy

We are really bad parents and very rarely buy Afton toys. Most of her toys are random things she finds on the ground (rocks/bark/sticky balls) and a few things from the dollar aisle. So recently while on a visit to Walmart, Logan and I were feeling a little bad for her and broke down and got her a real toy, and not one from the dollar section. It was a good investment. :)Though she's just as satisfied playing with rocks.

It's a two in one. She can ride it and we can stand it up so she can walk with it... I love toys that last through multiple stages.

Logans First Fathers Day

Logan had the day off on Fathers Day so we actually got to all hang out together. It was a nice relaxing day with lots of good food.

Dad and Afton after church.

We didn't get up in time to make breakfast before church so we ended up doing it as more of a brunch after church. We had eggs benedict, one of Logans favorites.

He got Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for Fathers day. He was very excited and surprised to get it!

Afton gives a lot of kisses. Her kisses are her open mouth that she just presses against your face. She leaned in and gave logan a kiss and then bit his nose! Good thing she doesn't have teeth yet! She definitely caught Logan off guard... now he's a little more cautious about those kisses close to his nose!

It was that time again!...

The San Diego Fair came to town. I love the fair! Mostly for the food that makes me feel nauseaus soon after eating it, but also for the animals, pig races, quilt displays, and random collections section(will be explained further on in the entry). We had a great trip this year. It was a lot of fun taking Afton for the first time since she was actually some what aware of what was going on. She's crazy about all animals so we knew she'd love going to the petting zoo. We have some really good memories from the San Diego Fair. Logan and I went the year we got married. Two years later we went with the Shreeves before they moved to Kentucky. One of my favorite memories from that time is when I turned around just in time to see Sailor (3 yrs.) trying to ride one of the goats in the petting zoo... haha.. wild kids! :) Too much fun. This year we created our own family memories... good ones. :) And I hope to continue going for years to come.

Trying to pet the sheep. She loved it when they would Baaaa.

Petting the goats.

Petting Dad. :)

Best buds.

Stopping to feed the little girl. Man things were much easier before we had to worry about this kind of stuff! Logan of course had a cinnamon roll, his favorite thing in the world.

Taking a nap, giving mom and dad a break!

Then suddenly I looked down to see this. haha

She loves her daddy.

Fair Food! So toxic it's almost lethal! :) jk

And time for my favorite part of the fair. They have a section of collection displays that people can enter. There have been some very very weird collections that people have entered. I often wonder what else these people collect and what their houses must look like on the inside! haha So here are a few note worthy collections.

This would have been my fair entry 10 years ago:

Yes I was a troll person. Even had the troll tree house that was one of those toys I had to have then never used! For Christmas one year my grandma got me a troll sweater that was so hideous and I LOVED IT! haha. Even wore it for school picture day, what was my mom thinking!? I would pull the picture out and post it but it would be to hard to find right now.

This would be my sister Ashlee's collection 10 years ago (and secretly still today):

That's right N'SYNC.

And I'm not sure why someone would collect so many staplers.... excuse me, so many US staplers.

There was also a collection of old empty Icecream cartons.... Maybe I should start collecting mine!

And us leaving the Fair... Until next year!
