After two very long flights and hours of one very cranky baby we arrived in Kentucky! It was a beautiful sight to see. Seriously, the scenery is beautiful. We got there just in time for the Shreeves to leave for church and for us to take a good nap.
Once we were up in was play time. We had really missed these guys and had actually never met Sunny who is now two! It had been three years since we had last seen them! Afton loved the jump jump in their basement but was scared of the loud noise it made. Is it normal for a 2 year old to still be afraid of the the vacuum and other loud noises?
Afton and Sunny
Taking Turns
They hadn't used up all their fireworks from the 4th so we got to have a show one of the nights after swimming.
We toured a big cavern in Louisville. I guess the darkness and bumps put Afton to sleep.
The whole crew after the tour.
I just had to take a picture of her eyes. They're so bright and pretty. I love that they're slightly different colors. One blue and one green.
They have a pond in the back, a paddle boat, and fishing gear. Lucky kids.
Steve took us for a driving one afternoon while Kim was at a meeting. I love driving in Oldham County. The landscape is so untouched and undeveloped. It's beautiful. We stopped at the Ohio River for a little while and then headed back home.
We went swimming, swimming, swimming everyday. It was heaven!
Logan, on a walk out to the pond, found our camera lying in the grass. We didn't even realize it was missing. Later when we turned it on we figured out how it got there. :) ha ha. Oh sailor.
We had our 5th anniversary while we were there. We put Afton down for a nap and went to Dairy Queen for a chocolate milkshake and on a little drive together. We used a timer and took a picture infront of the La Grange water tower. I had to sneeze right as it was taking.
Then I turned to early...
Finally third picture I figured it out.
The twins. These two are only 2 weeks apart in age.
Out to dinner with everyone for our anniversary! This bbq place was soo sooo good!!
The train passes right through old town La Grange.
We put coins on the tracks and when we heard the train go over them we thought it just might derail! ha ha. Is this illegal?
We had such a great time with the Shreeves. We love and really missed them. Hopefully it won't be another 3 years before we get to see them again!
